To celebrate her recently opened Paris flagship store, Tory Burch designed the Paris Capsule Collection. And to fete that range of fun and flirty sportswear she, along with Glee actress and now writer/director Dianna Agron and The Leftovers actress Margaret Qualley collaborated on a feel-good short film titled L’Américaine, debuting Aug. 31.

As all great things do, this project came about quite naturally. Agron, who polished her behind-the-camera chops directing a music video last year, was having lunch with a friend at the company who asked her advice on short film budgets since they were being pitched by production companies. “I said, ‘I can do it for this,’” recalls Agron, “I was [sort of] joking — not pitching myself, not ‘you have to hire me.'” But a week later, she tells Pret-a-Reporter, “They said, ‘we’re really quite interested in your take and what you would do.’ I wrote a couple pitches and it ended up working.”

May 12, 2015 - admin - Comments Off on [NEWS] McQueen breaks box office record at the St James Theatre - Gallery, News
James Phillips’s new play McQueen begins previews at the St James Theatre tonight (12th May) with the highest grossing advance sales figure in the theatre’s history, including more than thirty shows which have previously played the main stage.

The previous highest figure was recorded by the musical Urinetown in 2014. Directed by John Caird, McQueen opens to press next week and is currently booking until 27th June 2015.

Producer Robert Mackintosh said, “An exciting cast in a highly-anticipated new play, combined with the current public appetite for Lee Alexander McQueen and his designs, have together led to an incredible buzz about McQueen opening in London. We are absolutely delighted that this has translated into record-breaking sales at St. James Theatre.”

The production stars Stephen Wight in the title role and Dianna Agron as Dahlia as well as Tracy-Ann Oberman as Isabella Blow, Laura Rees as Arabella, and David Shaw-Parker as John Hitchcock. Sophie Apollonia, Amber Doyle, George Hill, Eloise Hymas, Jordan Kennedy, Rachel Louisa Maybank, James Revell and Carrie Willis complete the cast.
